Claims may be totally false.
On their website, the One Million Moms/Dads campaigns claim that Progressive Auto Insurance has pulled ads from the FX program, The Shield. However, something smells fully about this claim.

For one, was the AFA the exact same people who said almost the exact same time that Progressive was suing them for the exact same reasons?

Also, in the letter, it said that the advertising contract had expired, and there are no current plans to sponsor with FX's cop drama. Unlike what the AFA would like for you to believe, this does NOT mean that Progressive pulled ads because of it's content, if being pulled at all. Normally, a company will "rotate" their advertising dollars to various programs. Other times, financial issues (such as advertising prices for a network or show are too high) are a factor, and other times, the fact that the show in which they were sponsoring weren't reaching the audience that they need to get to. And in no way, shape or form, did Progressive say anything about the content of The Shield in their "letter" to the AFA.

That is, if the claim is true to begin with.

Since I have started One Million Lies, I have been dedicated to stopping Wildmon at every crossroad. However, now there could be a chance that Wildmon caught wind of this very site, or has caught wind of our counter letters. Thus, he could be using this to try to deter us. Usually, he would send out a e-mail to all members on the OMM/OMD sites. However, there was NO mail out for this development. Is there a chance that Wildmon knows that we're after him? And if so, is he trying to make us take the bait and get us to stop putting on the pressure so he can continue his bullying ways?

Well, if that is what he thinks, he should think again. I need for you to send out another e-mail to Peter B. Lewis concerning this issue. It was a PR rep of Progressive cited giving them this letter. Therefore, we need to ask Lewis for ourselves the following questions:

  1. Is the letter that was claimed to be sent by Progressive to the AFA a true letter?
  2. If it is, was it a letter he had his public relations representative, Shannon Radigan, send to the AFA, and if so, why?

As I do not have the address of Progressive in front of me, I cannot give it to you. However, I have e-mailed Bob Magee requesting the information. As he is very good with giving me the needed info quickly, I should have it within a day or two. Once I get it, I will hit this up with an update.
