This one was only a matter of time.
I have personally viewed this commercial, and it looks like a funny commercial

However, when I saw it, one of my immediate reactions was, after the laugh, how long would it take for the people of the AFA to get wind of this and go after it.

Not long, from what I got the other day. Donald Wildmon is getting the OMM/OMD members to get Hellman's Mayonnaise to stop running a certain ad.

According to the AFA:

Hellmann's mayonnaise has a new commercial running on TV. The commercial opens with three Chippendale-like male dancers gyrating through their routine, with the appropriate music playing. There are a lot of female voices ooing and aahing off screen. The viewer is led to believe the women are oohing and aahing at the dancers as they gyrate to the beat of the music. Then the commercial shows the setting is a group of women at a party. They are enjoying the food and Hellmann's mayonnaise while ignoring the male dancers as they strip in the background. The ooing and aahing is because of the Hellmann's mayonnaise.

As the women continue to ignore the dancers, the dancers decide to really get their attention. One stripper calls out to the women. They turn to look and the male dancers strip down to only their very tight briefs. The women watch the dancers strip, and then turn back to the food--unmoved by the sexual presentation of the dancers. The point of the commercial? Hellmann's is better than sex.

Hellmann's is using sex to sell their mayonnaise. Our members have described the commercial as being vulgar, tasteless, disgusting and very offensive.

First and foremost, OF COURSE YOUR MEMBERS ARE GOING TO BE FINDING IT OFFENSIVE, WILDMON!! You have them brainwashed to believe that anything even REMOTELY referring to sex on TV is offensive.

Now, personally, I think that his claim is a bunch of bull. My own FAMILY liked this commercial, and I am sure that many others have seen this commercial and liked it.

Now we need to tell the people at Hellman's that this commercial should stay on the air, and continue to run, despite what the AFA would like for us to believe (I would personally like to know what members they had told him about this one, if any).

I will give you the address, e-mail and phone number of the President of Unilever/Bestfoods USA (makers of Hellman's), Neil Bickerman. However, I will do something new with this if you go and e-mail. Usually I would give you the sample e-mail here on the page for you to copy& paste into the e-mail. However, this time, when you click the e-mail, you will see that the e-mail body will already be manifested. This way, you can just edit it to your desired text, or leave it as is and click send without having to do the copy & paste bit, which makes it a bit easier on you, I would suspect. I will do this in the future with future e-mails to people concerning certain issues. This will also make this page shorter. Here's the contact information:
